Former PPP MNA killed in road accident
A tragic traffic accident claimed the lives of two people, including former Member of the National Assembly Makhdoom Syed Ali Hassan Gilani of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and injured three others in Liaquatpur, Punjab.
The accident occurred near Nabipur when a speeding car collided with a stationary truck carrying livestock. Rescue sources confirmed the deaths of Gilani, 52, and Muhammad Akbar, 57.
The injured, identified as Sultan (30), Hanif (45), and Jand Wada (55), were transported to a local hospital.
Gilani, a prominent figure in Pakistani politics, served twice as an MNA, first for the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and later as an independent candidate. He joined the PPP in 2017 and contested elections twice on the party’s ticket but was unsuccessful.
