Pakistan Meteorological Department warns of below-average rainfall this winter
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning for below-average rainfall during the ongoing winter season across Pakistan.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz Khan announced that Balochistan is expected to experience dry and cold conditions throughout December, with no rainfall anticipated.
Looking ahead to January, Khan indicated that a rain system is expected to form early in the month, potentially bringing rain and snow to the northern regions of Balochistan.
As winter reaches its peak, snowfall continues in the mountainous areas, creating picturesque landscapes. In Gurez, lakes and waterfalls have frozen solid, while rescuers have assisted stranded tourists in Shogran.
Quetta has seen temperatures plummet to minus 4 degrees Celsius, with chilly winds affecting Karachi as well.
The PMD has predicted severe cold conditions until December 14.

Popular tourist spots like Malam Jabba and Kalam in Swat are also experiencing ongoing snowfall, while Murree has seen a temporary halt in snow, allowing for beautiful views.
