MPC to establish political, technical committee for financial, political situations

Demand ‘immediate issuance’ of 11 NFC Award with inclusion of three per cent quota for ex-Fata

The multi-party conference of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decided on Thursday the establishment of political and technical committees representing all political parties for financial and political situations and protection of the interests of the province.

The MPC expressed “deep concerns” over the deteriorating law and order situation in the province and declared that KP became victims of bloodshed more this year compared to last year.

The 14 points communique announced by KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the conceding session of the conference here at the Governor House said that over 70 security personnel were martyred during the previous month while over 200 lost lives in Kurrum district while the provincial government seemed “unsuccessful as for as maintaining law and order situation was concerned.”

The multi-party confab demanded “immediate issuance” of the 11th NFC Award with the inclusion of a three per cent quota for ex-Fata, forest and environment sector in the formula as per the population of the province and implementation of the recommendations of the Sartaj Aziz Committee in the letter and spirit.

The provincial leaders also stressed details of mines and mineral leases of KP to be made public, “immediate opening” of all historical and trade routes on the Pakistan-Afghan border for all kinds of trade and ensuring gas facilities to people of the province besides regular holding of the Council of Common Interest (CCI) meeting on regular basis under constitutional period and constitution of PFC with regular issuance of the award.

Besides the release of uniformed funds to local bodies representatives as per local government and withdrawal of two per cent IDC imposed by the provincial government as it was affecting Afghan trade, the MPC also demanded dignified repatriation of all IDPs of merged areas and non-harassment of peaceful Pashtoons in other provinces and Islamabad.

The APC also demanded a performance audit of the Provincial Government.
