Journalist known for Palestine advocacy found dead in France
According to local media reports, French journalist Marine Vlahovic, known for her outspoken advocacy for the Palestinian cause, was discovered deceased on November 25th on the rooftop terrace of her apartment in Marseille, France.
The Marseille prosecutor’s office, following initial autopsy findings, has declared that foul play is unlikely. However, toxicological analyses are currently being conducted to definitively ascertain the cause of death.
Vlahovic, aged 39, achieved recognition for her reporting on the hardships faced by Palestinians in Ramallah, West Bank, between 2016 and 2019. During this period, she contributed to several prominent news organizations, including RFI, Radio France, Le Soir, and Swiss Radio Television (RTS).
Following her relocation to Marseille in 2019, she made attempts to return to Palestine and consistently maintained communication with journalists based in Gaza. At the time of her death in 2024, she was reportedly engaged in the production of a documentary investigation focusing on the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
