5,000 PTI workers missing, Gohar says

Says KP government will provide compensation to the families of the deceased

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has stated that Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has no affiliation with the party. He also claimed that approximately 5,000 PTI workers are missing, and the party is currently collecting data on missing workers at the district level.

Speaking to the media in Abbottabad, Barrister Gohar confirmed that Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, is currently in Peshawar. He also said that Ali Amin Gandapur, is not using the province’s resources effectively. The chairman further stated that PTI is in contact with other political parties regarding future protests.

Barrister Gohar’s statements come amidst reports of significant internal divisions within the PTI. Disagreements between Imran Khan’s wife and party leadership were evident during a November 24 protest. Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has previously expressed concerns that Imran Khan is not being fully informed of the situation while in prison and insisted her actions are not politically motivated.

Barrister Gohar expressed condolences for the party’s deceased workers, stating that no government should resort to using lethal force against its citizens. He announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will provide compensation to the families of the deceased and employment opportunities to their children.

He highlighted the party’s nationwide support, stating that people are standing by Imran Khan despite significant personal sacrifices. He reiterated the claim of 5,000 missing party workers and condemned the use of force against the PTI’s movement.

The chairman stated that future plans of action will be determined by Imran Khan. He denied any political ambitions for Bushra Bibi, describing her participation in recent protests as that of a regular party worker. He confirmed that the PTI has established district-level cells to collect data on missing workers and expressed the party’s willingness to engage in negotiations with other political parties.
