Curfew imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s upper South Waziristan
The district administration imposed a curfew on Saturday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s upper South Waziristan to maintain law and order in the area.
“Consequent upon the request of law enforcement agencies due to their movement, curfew is hereby imposed in Makin, Ladha, Sararogha, and Tiarza tehsils, South Waziristan Upper on December,” said the notification.
Moreover, a curfew was also imposed in lower South Waziristan’s areas of Sanga and Inzer Cheena in the Shakai Tehsil region.
The curfew would be in place from 5am to 6pm. The administration has urged the people to cooperate with the security forces and avoid travelling during the curfew hours.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seen an increase in terrorist attacks in the recent past as the federal government blames the Afghan Taliban for allowing its land to be used by terrorist organisations.
Three terrorists belonging to Fitnal Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements with security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s cities on November 21-22, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.
