US govt employee Asif William Rahman charged with leaking information on Israel military plans
A US government worker has been charged with leaking classified information related to Israel’s potential military actions against Iran. Asif William Rahman was arrested by the FBI in Cambodia and is set to appear in court in Guam.
Indicted last week in Virginia, Rahman faces two felony counts for willfully transmitting national defense information, which could lead to serious prison time.
While it is unclear which federal agency he worked for or whether he has legal representation, officials noted that he held a top-secret security clearance allowing access to sensitive information.
The charges are linked to documents from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency that surfaced on Telegram last month.
These documents indicated that Israel was preparing military assets for a response to Iran’s missile attacks.
The FBI is investigating how the documents were leaked, examining whether it was an intentional act by an intelligence community member or the result of a hack.

The emergence of these documents has raised concerns about potential compromises in U.S. intelligence.
This incident underscores ongoing tensions in the region, especially following Israel’s retaliatory strikes against Iran in late October.
