Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shares his love story on The Great Indian Kapil Show
Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal opened up about his romance with his wife, Grecia Munoz, during an episode of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show.’
The show also featured other guests, including Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy and his wife, writer and philanthropist Sudha Murty.
When host Sharma asked Deepinder how he met Grecia, who is originally from Mexico, he shared a fond memory.
“I was single for a long time,” he recalled with a smile. “My friends often arranged dates for me and advised me not to settle down. When Grecia visited Delhi for the first time, a friend called and said, ‘You need to meet this girl.’ I agreed, and he insisted, ‘Make sure you meet her; you’ll want to marry her.’ This time, he was serious. He had always told me to avoid getting serious, but he changed his tune, saying, ‘If you find someone like her, you have to marry her.’ I was excited to meet her, and then…”
Grecia Munoz, popularly known as Gia Goyal, hails from Mexico. Before shifting her focus to entrepreneurship, she had a successful career in the modelling industry. She has also established a luxury consumer goods startup.
Goyal married Gia earlier this year and she has since relocated to India, becoming actively involved in the company’s operations.
The couple participated in a social experiment where they delivered food together as Zomato delivery partners, sporting matching t-shirts while traversing various parts of the city.
“Sometimes, my romantic texts to Gia serve as the inspiration for the app’s alerts. I must give full credit to our marketing team for taking my idea of ‘building a relationship with the customer’ a bit too seriously!” he joked on the show.
According to Live Mint, this is Deepinder’s second marriage. He was previously wed to Kanchan Joshi, whom he met while studying at IIT Delhi.
Sudha Murthy joined in on the fun when the topic of Chole Bhature arose. Previously, she had joked about the dish being less than healthy, and the playful banter continued as Kapil teased, “Look, she came all the way from Mexico and ended up loving Chole Bhature.”

Sudha responded with a laugh, “And she still stays slim, despite all the Chole Bhature!”
Kapil also inquired about Grecia’s experience with cooking in India, asking if she had prepared her “first rasoi,” the traditional first meal cooked by a new bride.
Deepinder humorously interjected, “Cooking is officially banned in our home. We just order in.” The audience appreciated the irony, given Deepinder’s position as the founder of one of India’s leading food delivery services, adding to the evening’s entertainment.
