Pakistan bowl out Australia for 163 in second ODI
Pakistan bowled out Australia for 163 runs in the second ODI in Adelaide on Friday.
Haris Rauf was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets.
Muhammad Hasnain and Naseem Shah took one wicket each.
Australia, seeking to clinch the ODI series before their Test players depart, have recalled Josh Hazlewood for the second ODI at Adelaide Oval.
He replaces Sean Abbott, who was part of the team that narrowly won the first match in Melbourne by two wickets, despite a strong bowling performance from Pakistan, particularly Haris Rauf, who disrupted Australia’s middle order.
Pakistan, unchanged from the first match, opted to bowl first after winning the toss, foregoing the opportunity to include a frontline spinner. While Australian captain Pat Cummins indicated he would have also chosen to bowl first on the grassy pitch, he anticipates good batting conditions throughout the match.
Naseem Shah, who left the field injured in Melbourne, is fit to play. The upcoming Perth match will be significantly weakened for Australia as key players including Hazlewood, Cummins, Starc, Smith, and Labuschagne will be rested ahead of the India Test series.
This presents Pakistan with a chance to level the series and face a considerably altered Australian team in the final match.
Australia Matt Short, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Steven Smith, Josh Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Aaron Hardie, Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins (capt), Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood
Pakistan Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (capt & wk), Kamran Ghulam, Salman Agha, Irfan Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain
