Electricity price increased for Karachi consumers
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a 40 paisa per unit increase in electricity prices for Karachi.
The increase, effective August 2024, is attributed to monthly fuel price adjustments.
The decision has been met with criticism, with many viewing it as another burden on the already struggling citizens of Karachi.
NEPRA has issued a notification confirming the price hike, stating that the additional charges will be reflected in consumers’ electricity bills in January 2025. The increase will be levied by K-Electric.
