Punjab CM announces plot allocation for 3,200 journalists
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a major initiative to provide plots to 3,200 journalists, highlighting her commitment to the journalist community.
In a recent meeting with Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari, the Chief Minister directed the Information Ministry to take immediate action for the establishment of the “Journalist Colony Lahore Phase Two.”
Maryam Nawaz stressed the importance of meeting all legal requirements to ensure the swift allocation of plots and instructed that the processes for the “Journalist Housing Scheme Phase Two” be expedited.
During the discussion, she remarked that journalists and the government function as two wheels of the same vehicle, emphasizing that providing plots is not a favor but a rightful entitlement.

She assured that all journalists will receive plots based on merit and legal criteria.
Furthermore, the Punjab Information Ministry has decided to solicit applications from journalists in Lahore, including those affiliated with the Lahore Press Club, with a formal advertisement expected to be released in the coming days.
