Advocate Imaan Mazari was arrested along with her husband, Abdul Hadi, in Islamabad on Monday.

The couple are accused of assaulting security officials at a security checkpoint in Islamabad a few days ago.

Mazari was arrested by Aabpara Police, where the case against her is filed, and was shifted to the Women’s Police Station after her arrest.

A video of the altercation between the couple and police had been posted on social media on Friday.

Police had cordoned off a road for the passage of the English cricket team which was playing a match in Rawalpindi.

The video showed Mazari and Hadi trying to remove the barriers on the road in order to let the traffic flow. This led to a scuffle with police officials.
