BJP politician’s son marries Pakistani girl
A distinctive cross-border wedding ceremony took place in a district of Uttar Pradesh when the son of a BJP leader married a Pakistani girl through an online nikah.
Tahseen Shahid, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator, arranged the marriage of his elder son, Mohammad Abbas Haider, to Andleep Zahra, a resident of Lahore. Although they applied for a visa, the groom was unable to secure one due to the ongoing political tensions between the two countries.
The situation was further complicated when the bride’s mother, Rana Yasmin Zaidi, fell ill and was admitted to the ICU in Pakistan. In light of these challenges, Shahid opted to hold the wedding ceremony online.
On Friday night, Shahid gathered with the baraati at an imambara to participate in the online nikah with the bride’s family joining the ceremony from Lahore.
Haider expressed hope that his wife would receive her Indian visa without any complications.
BJP MLC Brijesh Singh Prishu and other guests attended the wedding, offering their congratulations to the groom’s family.
