The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced that members of the US Congress have sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, seeking a formal update on the imprisonment of PTI founder Imran Khan, who is currently held in Adiala Jail.
The official PTI USA account on the social media platform X reported that the letter was authored by Tom Suozzi, the chairman of the Pakistan caucus, and Congressman Jack Bergman.
The post included an image of the letter, which requests Blinken to provide written information regarding Khan’s detention, the protests by PTI supporters, and various reports concerning Khan’s alleged “solitary confinement.”
“The two co-chairs of the Congressional Pakistan Caucus, Congressman Tom Suozzi (D-NY) and Congressman Jack Bergman (R-MI) have written a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, “requesting a written update on Imran Khan’s current situation”, given the numerous reports regarding Imran Khan’s incarceration,” the post said.
