The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to remove Shan Masood as captain of the national Test team, sources said.

A meeting of the selection committee is due to take place in Lahore on Friday, where the decision to remove Masood could be made final.

The committee will decide on the squad for the next match against England and will also deliberate on names for Masood’s successor.

Sources claimed that Masood will be retained until the end of the series against England.

Muhammad Rizwan is said to be a leading candidate for the post of new captain.
