Govt asks diplomats to limit movement in Islamabad
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised foreign diplomats to limit their movement during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad, according to ARY News.
In a letter, the ministry informed diplomats that the SCO summit will take place from October 15 to 16 in Islamabad.
The letter requested that foreign diplomats confine their movements to the red zone and diplomatic enclave and adhere to the traffic plan established by the traffic police during the summit.
A comprehensive security plan for the upcoming SCO summit was approved on Wednesday during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi.
Naqvi stated that additional personnel from the Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and Punjab police will be deployed to ensure the highest level of security for the guests.
The SCO, which includes India, China, Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, is a significant economic and security bloc that has become one of the largest trans-regional international organizations.
