CTD kills 7 terrorists in Mianwali, preventing major disaster

Authorities recovered six hand grenades, safety fuses, seven Kalashnikov rifles

A major counter-terrorism operation in Mianwali resulted in the deaths of seven militants affiliated with the “Fitna al-Khawarij” group, according to a statement released by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Eight other militants escaped the scene.

The CTD spokesperson stated that an intelligence-based operation near Makarwal, Mianwali, successfully prevented a large-scale attack. When CTD officers attempted to apprehend the militants, a firefight ensued.

During the exchange of fire, seven militants were killed, reportedly by friendly fire from their own group. Eight others escaped under the cover of darkness.

Authorities recovered six hand grenades, safety fuses, seven Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition, and explosive materials from the militants. A search operation is underway to apprehend the remaining eight fugitives.

The CTD spokesperson further revealed that the militants had finalized plans for a major attack on Mianwali and that a roadblock had been established near Makarwal.
