The Punjab government has imposed Section 144 in Mianwali for seven days in response to rising security concerns.

A notification from the Punjab Home Department confirmed that this ban prohibited all forms of political gatherings, including sit-ins, rallies, protests, and similar activities. The restrictions were in effect from October 1 to October 7.

The decision followed recommendations from the district administration and included the deployment of Rangers in the area.

Two companies of Rangers were stationed in Mianwali from October 1 to October 3 to ensure public safety.

According to the notification, the enforcement of Section 144 aimed to maintain law and order and safeguard lives and property, as public gatherings could present soft targets for potential terrorist activities.

The Punjab Home Department also instructed officials to promote public awareness regarding the implementation of these restrictions.
