FBR makes major announcement as last date for filing draws close
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that its offices will remain open on Sunday to accommodate taxpayers filing income tax returns.
With only one day left before the September 30th deadline, many citizens are facing difficulties accessing the FBR website.
The online tax filing system, IRIS, has experienced significant outages, preventing many from submitting their returns. FBR sources have stated that they are working to resolve the technical issues and ensure that no taxpayer is prevented from filing their return.
Despite the extension of office hours, the FBR has maintained that the September 30th deadline will not be extended.
The website issues have prompted concerns from various business organizations.
The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) have expressed serious concerns over the difficulties faced by taxpayers and have urged the FBR to extend the deadline by one month.
