Maryam warns Gandapur against violating law in Punjab

Nawaz criticized the KP government's actions, asking it to work for people

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has issued a stern warning to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, accusing them of prioritizing protests and violence over serving the public. She also announced a significant agricultural relief package for Punjab farmers.

Addressing a gathering in Faisalabad, Nawaz criticized the KP government’s actions, stating, “If we don’t engage in good politics, the country won’t progress. The rulers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should focus on serving the people instead of resorting to abuses and violent protests.” She highlighted the irony of KP patients seeking treatment in Punjab hospitals, adding, “If you break the law in Punjab, you will receive a strong response.”

Nawaz defended her government’s record, emphasizing its commitment to youth and meritocracy. She claimed that 95% of her cabinet consists of young people and asserted that all government jobs have been awarded on merit.

She announced a comprehensive agricultural package, including interest-free loans of 150,000 rupees for small farmers and the distribution of farmer cards to facilitate access to these funds. Over 50,000 farmers have already received their cards, with 1 million applications received. The activation of these cards is scheduled for October 15th.

Addressing the recent PTI rally in Lahore, Nawaz criticized the timing and method of the protest, alleging that the participants violated agreed-upon timings and endangered the lives of countless people by driving on the wrong side of the motorway. She condemned the violence and vandalism that occurred, stating, “They have nothing to show for their work, and when they feel like it, they spew filth from their mouths.” She also vowed to protect green belts and memorials from further damage.

Nawaz directly addressed KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, stating, “If you break the law in Punjab, you will receive a strong response.” She criticized the focus on rallies and protests, asserting that such activities hinder actual governance.

She also criticized the previous government’s practice of purchasing wheat from mafias instead of directly from farmers. She urged the KP government to focus on addressing the needs of its own people instead of focusing on Punjab.
