Gandapur back in contact with party leaders, reaches Peshawar

He had been accessible since 7 pm yesterday

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has re-established contact with his party leaders after being unreachable for eight hours. Gandapur lost contact at 7 pm yesterday evening.

The Chief Minister traveled from Islamabad to Peshawar late last night. Sources within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House have confirmed that Gandapur has several meetings scheduled in Peshawar today.

Rumors of his arrest have been denied. Earlier, PTI leaders including Barrister Saif had claimed Gandapur was missing. However, Hamed Khan refuted these claims, stating that the Chief Minister’s communication was lost due to a jammer during his travel.

PTI leader, Shahid Ahmad Khattak, announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the Chief Minister had returned to Peshawar. He also confirmed the arrests of Sheikh Waqas, Zain Qureshi, Amir Dogar, and Syed Shah Ahad.

Khattak further revealed that other MNAs, including Yousuf Khattak, Hamed Raza, and Latif Chitrali, are also under custody.

Meanwhile, another case has been registered against Gandapur at the Sangjani Police Station. The case alleges that he illegally detained a district administration officer. The officer who issued the notice for the expiry of the time limit was also detained.

It is noteworthy that all PTI leaders present at the Parliament House in Islamabad were taken into custody late last night.

Sources confirm that Sheikh Waqas Akram, Zain Qureshi, Naseem-ur-Rehman, Amir Dogar, Syed Shah Ahad, Shahid Khattak, Yousuf Khattak, Latif Chitrali, and Sahibzada Hamed Raza were arrested from the Parliament House.

Following the arrests of Barrister Gohir, Sher Afzal Marwat, and Shuib Shaheen, MNA Zubair Khan was also arrested. Shuib Shaheen was taken into custody from his office. Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul managed to escape police custody.

The arrests were made due to alleged violations of the law and other charges during Sunday’s gathering.
