Quick boredom behind rising divorce rates, Asha Bhosle says
Veteran singer Asha Bhosle has expressed her concerns regarding the increasing divorce rates among young couples. In a recent conversation with spiritual leader Ravi Shankar, she questioned why many young people seem to fall out of love and grow bored with each other so quickly.
Reflecting on her own experiences, the 91-year-old artist shared that during her marriage to music composer RD Burman, she faced challenges but never considered divorce, often opting instead to spend a few days at her mother’s home when conflicts arose.
She noted a stark contrast to today’s generation, where couples frequently file for divorce.
Bhosle emphasized that the depth of love appears to diminish rapidly among younger couples, contributing to the rising divorce statistics.
She lamented that many seem to lack the patience and tolerance that characterized relationships in the past.
Additionally, Asha Bhosle spoke about women’s rights regarding pregnancy, highlighting her own journey as a working mother of three.
