Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi ul Awwal) will be celebrated nationwide tomorrow with great reverence. In Karachi, significant roads will be closed for the festivities.

Due to the processions in Karachi, M.A. Jinnah Road and nearby streets will be closed.

Authorities have put in place strict security measures for the celebrations. Traffic will be redirected from MR Kiyani Chowk to Court Road and from Empress Market to Zaibunnisa Street.

Traffic heading towards Liaquatabad Town will be redirected from the Aram Bagh traffic signal to Shaheen Complex, while traffic coming from University Road will be directed to Kashmir Road through the Jail Chowrangi Flyover.

According to the traffic police, vehicles approaching Peoples Chowrangi will be diverted towards Saddar through Shahrah-e-Qaideen, and traffic coming from Gurumandir Chowrangi towards M.A. Jinnah Road will be redirected towards Central Jail.

Various events such as seminars and gatherings focused on the life of the Prophet Muhammad will be held, along with processions, food distributions, and cake-cutting ceremonies.

Traffic plan announced for Chup Tazia procession in Karachi

The Sindh government had declared a public holiday on September 17 (Tuesday) on the occasion of Eid-i-Miladun Nabi.

Procession and routes

According to the traffic police, the procession organised by Jamaat-e-Islami will depart at 2:30pm while another procession is scheduled to begin at 3:00pm. One procession will commence from Shaheedi Mosque and another would start from Memon Mosque.

Traffic would not be permitted on MA Jinnah Road and vehicles would be redirected to alternative routes. Access from Keamari to Jinnah Bridge Tower would also be restricted. Roads along the procession route and adjacent streets would be closed to traffic.

Vehicles would not be allowed to proceed past Jail Flyover towards New MA Jinnah Road. Traffic would be diverted towards Kashmir Road and would be redirected from Benori Town to Central Jail.

Access to MA Jinnah Road from Lasbela via Business Recorder Road would be prohibited. Traffic would also be redirected from Jahangir Road, Jamshed Road, and the Benori Light Signal.

Streets in Bahadur Yar Jang and Guru Mandir would be closed to all traffic. Traffic would not be allowed to proceed past the Society Signal on Shahrah-e-Quaidin.

Moreover, traffic would be rerouted towards Kashmir Road and vehicles would not be permitted to move from MR Kiyani Chowk to Court Road Chowrangi. The traffic would also be diverted from the Press Club to Abdullah Haroon Road.

Traffic coming from Kharadar would be redirected from Lee Market and vehicles would also be sent towards Musa Lane and Khada Market.

All traffic superintendents would be responsible for monitoring the processions in their respective districts.
