Israel will be gone if Harris wins US presidency, says Trump
Former United States president Donald Trump has claimed that Israel would cease to exist if Vice President Kamala Harris secures the presidency in November as he provoked Jewish Americans against voting for Democrats.
“If they win, Israel is gone. Just remember that. If they win, Israel is gone,” he said in his address to Republican Jewish Coalition donors in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday.
“If they don’t, I think it’s going to be a very terrible situation.”
Trump criticised the Biden-Harris administration, stating, “I don’t understand how anyone can support them… if you are Jewish, you have to have your head examined. They have been very bad to you.”
As he campaigns for reelection as the Republican presidential nominee on November 5, Trump stated that the October 7 attacks by Hamas on Israel would not have occurred if he had been in office.
In response to his comments, the Harris campaign condemned Trump, accusing him of “openly demeaning” Jewish Americans. They emphasized that he has shown a willingness to abandon Israel for his personal interests, asserting, “He has done so in the past.”
Trump expressed confidence in his appeal to Jewish voters, claiming he could secure around 50% of their votes.
Addressing the rise of pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses, Trump stated that institutions must eliminate “antisemitic propaganda” or risk losing their accreditation and federal funding.
He also vowed to ban refugee resettlement from areas he described as “terror-infested,” such as the Gaza Strip.
