U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is scheduled for an interview with CNN on Thursday, marking her first interview since becoming the Democratic presidential candidate after President Joe Biden’s campaign ended.

The interview, set to air at 9 p.m. ET, will be conducted by CNN anchor Dana Bash from Georgia, a key battleground state.

Harris has faced scrutiny for not participating in one-on-one media interviews or formal press conferences, prompting Republican candidate Donald Trump to voice his concerns.

This comes after weeks of criticism from Republicans and media outlets regarding her limited engagement with the press.

During the Democratic National Convention, Harris outlined broad policy goals, including a proposed tax cut for the middle class and a strong foreign policy stance against Russia and North Korea, while advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza and a two-state solution in the Middle East.

As the election date approaches on November 5, Harris is expected to face detailed questions about her policies, providing a contrast to Trump’s recent focus on criticizing the Biden administration without presenting his own policy plans.

Harris last appeared in an interview in June, where she defended Biden’s record following a debate.
