WhatsApp introduces ‘favorite chats’ feature in latest update

Chats will be prominently displayed at the top of the calls tab

The popular messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out a new “favorite chats” feature as part of its latest update. The feature, which was first hinted at earlier this year, allows users to mark certain contacts and groups as favorites, making them easily accessible.

The new feature is being introduced with the release of WhatsApp for iOS version 24.16.79. Users can now navigate to the app’s settings and access the newly added “favorites” section, where they can manage their list of most important chats by rearranging, adding or removing contacts and groups.

Once added to the favorites list, these chats will be prominently displayed at the top of the calls tab, providing users with quicker access and a more streamlined chat list.

In addition to the favorite chats feature, the latest WhatsApp update also introduces an enhanced calling user interface (UI).

The updated controls aim to offer a more intuitive and reliable user experience by making calling features easier to access.
