The incident occurred around 30 minutes after departing from Kanpur Central station, near Bhimsen.

Officials stated that the train’s engine and two coaches went off the tracks, but the passengers remained safe.

“The Sabarmati Express was en route from Nizamuddin to Ahmedabad when the incident happened. Immediate rescue and relief operations were launched, and all passengers have been safely disembarked,” a railway spokesperson said.

The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation, with railway authorities suspecting a possible technical fault or a problem with the track.

Teams of engineers and technical experts have been deployed to the site to assess the damage and restore normal train operations.

While no casualties have been reported, the derailment has caused disruptions to the railway schedule, with several trains being canceled or delayed in the region.
