Provincial ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Saeed Ghani announced that the Sindh government has launched a free air ambulance service under the Local Government Council Association. They stated that this is fulfilling the vision of their chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The ministers said that an agreement has been signed between the Sindh Local Council Association and an aircraft company, ASSL, to provide this free air ambulance service in Sindh. This will ensure that people across the province can access these critical medical transport facilities.

The ministers also addressed rumors circulating on social media about changes to the Sindh governor and cabinet. During the event announcing the air ambulance service, Saeed Ghani stated that this new project will allow patients from Ghotki, Sukkur and Khairpur to be transported by air to Karachi for medical care.

Minister Syed Nasir Shah stated that the agreement will be between ASSL Aviation and the three local councils of Sukkur, Ghotki, and Khairpur. He acknowledged that transporting patients from cities 6 hours away from Karachi has been a problem, and that this new air ambulance service is a big achievement in addressing that challenge.

Shah said that today is a day of happiness, as this air ambulance service fulfills the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He added that the service will also be extended to other cities like Hyderabad, Thar, Nawabshah, and Larkana. There are also plans to operate the air ambulance from airstrips in Badin.

The Chairman of the Sindh Local Council Association, Syed Kamil Haider Shah, stated that this air ambulance service will allow patients from South Punjab and North Sindh to be transported to Karachi, potentially saving lives.

He clarified that the three district councils of Sukkur, Ghotki and Khairpur will be contracting with ASSL Aviation, which will provide 5 free flights per month for these districts.

The CEO of Airlift Sales and Services, Akbar Jafri, said they are already providing air ambulance services across Pakistan, transporting patients from cities like Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, and Quetta.

He confirmed that patients from Sukkur, Ghotki and Kashmore can now be shifted to Karachi using this new service.
