Islamabad: Crackdown on vehicles with non-standard number plates
The capital city administration has decided to cancel the registration of vehicles with non-standard number plates by making major changes in the rules regarding the registration and number plates of vehicles.
A fee of Rs5,000 would have to be charged for re-registration for vehicles up to 1,000cc while the fee for 2,000cc vehicles would be Rs10,000, according to a notification
Vehicles above 2,000cc would have to pay a fee of Rs20,000 for re-registration while the fee for re-registration of a motorcycle has been set at Rs1,000.
In case of repeated violations, a fee five times the normal fee would be charged.
