Monal Restaurant closes down after SC ruling
Islamabad’s iconic restaurant Monal has announced its closure after Supreme Court’s orders.
Taking to their Facebook, Monal wrote that: “It’s time to say Goodbye. As per Honorable SCP directions, we are closing on 11/09/2024.”
The restaurant expressed their gratitude towards their customers for ‘their recognition, appreciation and a place in their hearts.’
“Since 2006, It was an absolute pleasure for the Monal family to serve and showcase a positive image of Pakistan and it’s beautiful people. This journey was full of success stories and emotions for the team affiliated with us but now its time to say goodbye.”

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the closure of all restaurants operating within national parks, including Monal restaurant, located in the scenic Margalla Hills National Park on June 11.
The Supreme Court ruled that all restaurants within the national park must be completely dismantled within three months. While the court acknowledged the need to relocate affected restaurants, it emphasized that commercial activities are not permitted within the park.
