Heavy rainfall across Punjab, power supply disrupted in several areas

Heavy rainfall has lashed various cities across Punjab, including Lahore, making the weather pleasant. The rains have led to power outages in multiple areas.

In Lahore, areas such as Doves Road, Mughalpura, Gulberg, Lakshmi Chowk and the surrounding regions experienced heavy downpours, while Muslim Town, Faisal Town, Township and Harbanspura also saw cloudburst rains.

Additionally, other cities in Punjab like Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Gujrat and Kamoke also received heavy rainfall late at night.

Due to the rainfall, multiple feeders tripped, resulting in power supply disruptions in various areas. Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider has directed all departments to remain on high alert.

In Sindh, Balochistan and different parts of Punjab, the rains have claimed 19 lives in various incidents.

Rainfalls were also recorded in Bambhore, Azad Kashmir and the surrounding areas, accompanied by thunderstorms.

The rainfall from the Kirthar Mountains has also caused flood water to enter the Hub River.

According to officials, the flood surge in the Hub River has caused partial damage to the alternative route, but the repair work on the alternative route is ongoing.

Meanwhile, in the city of Quaid, there were also reports of heavy rains in some areas.
