Heavy rain along with thunderstorms affected Islamabad, Lahore, and various other cities of Punjab province. The rain has brought releief from the intense heatwave engulfing the Punjab.

However, the rain also led to tripping of several power feeders, causing disruption in electricity supply.

The fourth spell of the monsoon season is currently ongoing in Punjab. Different cities of the province have experienced pleasant weather, with cool winds and dark clouds covering the sky. In some areas, light rain has fallen, while heavy showers have been reported in others, making the weather enjoyable.

In Lahore, after the morning rain, the gloomy and tired faces of the citizens lit up with joy. Areas like Eid Gah, Mall Road, Laxmi Chowk, Anarkali Bazaar, Shahalimar, Garhi Shahu, Mall Road, Canal Road, Harbanspura, Sundar, Qurtaba Chowk, Warris Road, and Islampura experienced rainfall, which also impacted power supply in parts of the city during the showers.

Additionally, cities like Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Kamoke, and Shorkot in Punjab witnessed heavy downpours as dark clouds gathered and poured. The hill station of Murree also experienced pleasant weather with strong winds and rainfall.

The cool winds and rainfall have brought an end to the summer heat. Due to the rainfall, multiple feeder trippings have caused power outages in various areas.

Apart from Lahore, cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Attock, and Wazirabad in Punjab have also experienced light to heavy rainfall, making the weather pleasant. After the heavy rainfall, the roads started to resemble river streams.

On the other hand, NDMA has expressed concerns about the possibility of high-level flash flooding in the districts of Narowal and Sialkot in Punjab over the next three days due to the rainfall. The heavy rains in the upper areas of Jammu have also raised the risk of floods in the rivers and streams of Narowal and Sialkot.
