A car was crushed under an oil tanker near the Baloch Colony Bridge in Karachi on Thursday, causing a major traffic jam and raising concerns about a potential fire hazard.

According to police, the oil tanker driver fled the scene after the accident. The tanker began leaking petrol, causing a significant traffic disruption.

Rescue officials have requested heavy machinery to lift the tanker and free the car. However, they are facing difficulties due to a large crowd of onlookers.

Rescue officials also expressed concerns about the possibility of a fire due to the leaking oil.

Eyewitnesses reported that a family was inside the car that was crushed under the tanker.

The bridge connecting Qayyum Abad to Baloch Colony has been closed to traffic.
