Multiple regions of Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab experienced heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours. As a result of these heavy downpours, at least 19 people have died in rain-related accidents.

Karachi, Lahore and Sherani have experienced light to heavy rainfall, resulting in low-lying areas’ inundation.

In Sherani, the floodwaters have washed away a 70-kilometer stretch of the national highway.

Various districts of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, and Bhit Shah, have experienced intense rainfall, which has provided relief from the severe heat. However, the downpours have also resulted in the inundation of low-lying areas. Water has accumulated on the roads, and the electricity supply has been disrupted as well.

In Hyderabad, heavy rainfall has led to the accumulation of water on the city’s major thoroughfares, and 130 feeders have tripped, causing a large part of Latifabad to plunge into darkness. The shutdown of Hesco feeders has also affected the drainage process in the city.

Similarly, in Matiari district, the low-lying areas were submerged due to the heavy overnight rainfall, and the electricity supply was disrupted throughout the district.

The rainfall has also affected traffic flow on the national highway in Matiari, and some areas are experiencing torrential downpours accompanied by strong winds.

In Tando Adam, Shahdadpur, Sanghar, and the surrounding areas, the heavy rainfall with thunderstorms has resulted in the accumulation of water in the low-lying regions and the disruption of power supply. In Sanghar, two people were injured in a motorcycle accident due to the rainfall.

However, in Karachi, drizzling happened throughout the night in various areas such as Malir, Bin Qasim, Mehmoodabad, Liaquatabad, Gulistan-e-Johar, Gulbahar, Nazimabad, and adjacent localities.

In Lahore and several other cities, low-lying areas have been submerged in water due to the rainfall, while many localities have also faced power outages.

Around 6 died in Gujranwala, 4 in Lahore, 3 in Chakwal and 3 in Sheikhpura died due to rainfall incidents.

In Gujranwala, the collapse of a roof claimed the lives of 2 children, while in Faisalabad, 1 person was killed, and 49 others were injured in various incidents.

Additionally, in Charsadda, a roof collapse resulted in the deaths of 2 individuals, including a woman.

In various districts of Balochistan, including Zhob, Barkhan, Musakhel, Kohlu, Harnai, Loralai, and Nasirabad, heavy rains have resulted in widespread flooding. In Sherani, a 70-kilometer stretch of the national highway has been swept away by floodwaters.

Heavy rains in the Sulaiman Mountains have led to a high-intensity flood situation. In Dhana Sar, landslides occurred at two locations after heavy rainfall, and the N50 national highway has been closed to traffic.
