The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold an important meeting today in Islamabad to discuss the implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision to allocate reserved seats in the national and provincial assemblies to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The meeting will be chaired by the Chief Election Commissioner, Sikandar Sultan Raja.

During the meeting, various aspects related to the implementation of the Supreme Court’s decision on the reserved seats will be discussed.

The ECP secretary and Legal Wings heads would brief the meeting about the apex court’s decision.

The Supreme Court had overturned the decision of the Peshawar High Court and the Election Commission, and had ordered the allocation of the reserved seats to PTI.

The Supreme Court has also recognized PTI as a political party in the Parliament and provincial assemblies.
