IMF praises govt for measures taken for economic progress

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has praised the steps taken by the Pakistani government, sources in Pakistan’s ministry of finance have told reporters.

These measures include making tough economic decisions part of the budget and eliminating tax exemptions on various items.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the IMF has deemed these actions as positive for economic progress. An IMF delegation is expected to arrive in Pakistan on June 28.

According to the Ministry of Finance, there has been progress in the virtual negotiations with IMF officials.

The IMF has appreciated the political consensus in the country regarding the budget.
