Pakistan International Airlines’ pre-Hajj travel operations had been completed successfully.

The spokesperson stated that the final PIA flight operating as part of the pre-Hajj program departed from Karachi and arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Monday night, Arab News reported.

Pakistan began its Hajj flight operations on May 9, transporting pilgrims who will perform the Islamic pilgrimage of Hajj under the government’s official program.

Pakistan has been allocated a total Hajj quota of 179,210 pilgrims this year. Approximately 70,000 people are expected to perform the Hajj journey through the government’s scheme, while the remaining pilgrims will travel using private tour operator packages.

The Hajj pilgrimage period for this year is scheduled to take place from June 14 to June 19.

“A total of 35,030 pilgrims departed for the holy journey through 171 flights. About 19,500 official pilgrims, 14,900 private pilgrims and 630 pilgrims departed for Madinah and Jeddah through these flights,” PIA spokesperson said.
