The police claimed to have arrested a robber in an injured condition after an encounter between the police and robbers on Thursday in Punjab’s Kasur.

The accomplices of the injured robber fled. The robber was injured while exchanging fire with the local police.

He has been identified as Imran, also known as Imrani, a resident of the area. The suspects were involved in over 27 incidents of dacoity and robbery in Kasur and Sheikhupura districts.

When the police spotted the criminals, they “opened fire from multiple directions,” prompting a response from the authorities.

In the retaliatory action, one of the dacoits was injured and taken into custody, according to the police.

A search operation has been launched to apprehend the other fleeing suspects, with police cordoning off the area.
