A mother of three children was killed when a bear attacked her in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra on Thursday.

The attack occurred when she was in the Jagan area of Balakot for farming. Bear attacks have become a common occurrence in various areas of the town, according to locals.

The woman was rushed to King Abdullah Hospital after the attack, but could not be saved.

Residents have demanded immediate action from the authorities to address the rising threat of bear attacks in the region.

Family and relatives had reached the police station for the registration of the case. Balakot DSP Cadet Farooq assured them that the police would take action against the department officials.

Wildlife experts warn that the prolonged heatwave in the area may be forcing bears to venture into human settlements in search of food, leading to increased conflict.

Authorities have been urged to take urgent measures to protect the affected population and ensure adequate food and water supplies for the wildlife to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
