Transgenders storm police station in Kharian after alleged assault
A group of transgender people stormed a police station in Kharian on Sunday after members of their community were allegedly beaten up by the police.
The incident occurred after police officers stopped and searched a transgender woman named Hina and her male companion in Kharian.
A verbal altercation ensued, and the officers took Hina and her companion to the police station, where they were beaten up before being released.
In response, a group of transgendes gathered at the police station, vandalized property and dragged officials by their collars. They also took some items from the station with them.

Videos of the transgenders dragging things out of the police station went viral on social media.
The protesters then blocked the GT Road in protest. Police used baton charging to disperse the crowd.
The SHO of the police station, Bilal Shah, stated that the DPO of Gujrat has suspended the police officers who allegedly abused the transgender individuals.
