Balochistan’s underprivileged young singer wins govt support
The Balochistan government has announced its decision to support a young singer, Tariq, from Dera Bugti, providing for his educational expenses and supporting his father. Tariq earned a living by polishing shoes even after he became a local social media sensation.
“Inshallah, his schooling and other expenses as he polishes boots due to poverty will be borne by the Balochistan government,” Azhar Shehbaz, the Dera Bugti deputy commissioner, said on Saturday.
Tariq became an internet sensation in the province after trending on social media because of singing Baloch songs. He polishes boots and supports his family while his father Wali Dad sells snacks.
He belongs to Sui and would get admission to a school in the district.
Shehbaz added that the government would also work for siblings of Tariq to support their family.
