Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa said on Thursday that he had received no complaints of meddling during his tenure so far as the country’s top judge.

“Since I’ve been chief justice, I have not received a single complaint from any high court judge that there has been interference in their work. If there has been interference in their work, it has not been reported to me,” he said while addressing the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA).

His statement comes amid the six judges’ letter in which they alleged executive and intelligence agencies’ interference in judicial matters.

A new Supreme Court bench would hear the suo motu proceedings on the alleged intelligence agencies and executive interference in judicial affairs of the country.

The new six-member apex court bench led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa would hear the case on April 30. It will further comprise Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Jamal Mandokhail, Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Musarrat Hilali, and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan.

While reminiscing about his time working at the Sindh High Court building, the CJP said: “I have many memories of this building and the one next to it.“The high court building is “indeed an architectural gem,” he added.
