The Islamabad Accountability Court has prohibited PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi from making any statements against state institutions during the ongoing trial.

Judge Basir Javed Rana, hearing Khan’s plea for a fair trial, issued an order restricting both the accused and the media from engaging in any political or inflammatory rhetoric targeting state institutions and their officials.

The court’s order specifically emphasizes that media outlets should refrain from publishing or broadcasting any content that contains political or inflammatory narratives aimed at state institutions or their officials.

The judge referenced the PEMRA Code of Conduct, highlighting the importance of responsible media coverage.

The court noted that Khan is accused of making inflammatory and prejudiced statements against state institutions, including the judiciary, Pakistan Army, and the Army Chief.

These statements, according to the court, disrupt court decorum and hinder the process of delivering justice.

The order emphasized the court’s responsibility to ensure decorum and uphold the principles of a fair trial. Additionally, the court directed jail authorities to restore the jail court to its pre-Eid condition.
