KP CM calls for separate room for transgender persons’ treatment at DHQs
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has issued instructions for reserving a separate room for the transgender community in the district headquarter hospitals of the province.
He said this during a meeting with Governor Haji Ghulam Ali on Sunday night. Peshawar Mayor Haji Zubair Ali was also present in the meeting. They discussed different problems faced by the trans community of the province.
KP CM also agreed on providing land for a separate graveyard for the transgender community and a notification in this regard would be issued soon.
Governor Haji Ghulam Ali apprised Gandpaur about the challenges faced by transgender in the burial of a community member as “people did not allow them to perform the last rituals of the deceased in their respective graveyards.”
Gandapur also held out assurance of inviting the transgender community to the CM house for a meeting with him.
