A Unted Airlines aeroplane lost one of its tyres immediately after taking off from San Fransisco.

A video of the plane showing the tyre very clearly dropping off while the plane was continuing to gain altitude went viral on social media.

The lost tyre was from the plane’s left side, and was one of a total of six tyres on the plane.

Fortunately, the plane, a Boeing 777, was designed to make a landing even if it lost a tyre. The plane eventually landed in Los Angeles, at about two-thirds of the runway.

The plane was later towed away from the runway.

A total of 235 passengers wer aboard the plane when the incident happened. However, none were injured in the incident. The passengers were then boarded on an alternative plane.

The rogue tire landed on a car in the parking lot of San Francisco’s airport and eventually settled in an empty area. Although the car’s back screen was shattered, there were no injuries reported as the car was empty.
