Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on Wednesday backed the Corps Commanders’ stance of bringing to justice the perpetrators of the May 9 riots.

In a formal talk with the reporter at the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, the former prime minister once against called for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 riots.

“I endorse the declaration of the CCC. Suspects involved in May 9 incidents should be punished severely,” he said.

Khan said that the perpetrators of the May 9 riots should be identified using CCTV footage similar to the United States Capitol Hill attack.

“Neither we are anti-army nor want a clash with forces,” he added.

On the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision regarding reserved seats, Khan said that the ECP disregarded democracy by depriving the PTI of reserved seats.

The former premier also accused the ECP of rigging in the February 8 general elections.
