Sarfraz Bugti is set to become the chief minister of Balochistan as the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has finalised his name for the top slot in the province, sources said on Sunday.

Haq Do Tehreek’s Hidayatullah and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Majeed Badini have also vowed to support the PPP in the formation of government in Balochistan, they added.

It is pertinent to mention that Bugti was the home minister in the caretaker government.

However, he resigned from the post weeks before the February 8 election and announced to join the PPP.

In this regard, as many as three independent members of the provincial assembly of Balochistan are set to join the PPP while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will also be part of the government, according to sources privy to the matter.

According to sources, PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari is set to announce the leader of the house’s name in the upcoming two days.
