CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi elected PCB chairman
Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi was elected unopposed the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday.
PCB Chief Election Commissioner Shah Khawar presided over the governing board’s meeting where as many as 10 members participated and elected Naqvi as the chief of the cricket governing body.
CM Naqvi was nominated for the board’s membership by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.
It is pertinent to mention that Khawar was working as acting chairman of the PCB after Zaka Ashraf stepped down from the post.
Ashraf on January 19 said that he had decided to tender his resignation as chairman to PM Kakar.
His resignation came a day after Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick, who were assigned duties at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore after a change in their portfolios in November 2023, resigned from their respective positions.
