Citizens of these countries can stay in Thailand for 30 days without visa
In an attempt to increase tourism in the country, Thailand has allowed visa-free entry to visitors from more than 60 countries and to stay for a period of up to 30 days, Thai newspaper The Nation reported.
Countries from Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bahrain, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece and Hungary nationals can entre the country without a visa, according to the country’s foreign ministry.
Additionally, visitors from Iceland, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovak, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam are also allowed to arrive in Thailand without a visa and can stay for a month.
The country entered a bilateral agreement with Cambodia and Myanmar under which passport holders of both these countries can enter Thailand and stay without a visa for 14 days. However, the rule applies to those entering the country through an international airport.
Hong Kong, Laos, Macau, Mongolia, Russia, and Vietnam passport holders can stay in Thailand can also stay in the country for up to 30 days.
Argentina, Brazil, Chile, South Korea and Peru nationals are allowed to stay in Thailand without a visa for up to 90 days.
For Chinese and Kazakhstan nationals, the temporary visa-free entry is effective till February 29, and till May 10 for Indian nationals and the Taiwanese.
Russian passport holders are eligible for a 90-day stay without a visa till April 30.
Bangkok became the world’s most visited city last year, with 22.78 million international visitors.
Phuket and Pattaya, Thailand’s two other popular tourist destinations, were ranked among the top 20 most visited cities in the world.
