No New Year celebrations and fireworks in Sharjah this year
In solidarity with Palestinians living in Gaza, Sharjah Police issued an announcement on Tuesday night prohibiting all celebrations and fireworks on New Year’s Eve (December 31).
In a post on their X account, the police reached out to all organizations and people to observe the boycott, bringing up that it would take legal action against the people who would disregard the order.
The police stressed that human solidarity emotion is a deep rooted culture followed by the emirate of Sharjah.
Before Tuesday night’s declaration by the police, it had recently been expressed that there would be three places for New Year’s Eve fireworks in the emirate of Sharjah.
